Nadra Introduces Doorstep Vehicle Registration Service

The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has introduced a new service that allows citizens to register their vehicles from the comfort of their own homes. The service aims to provide convenience to citizens and eliminate the need for them to visit the excise office. An official representative from Nadra, Khurram Javed, informed the media that the team would register the vehicle and issue the license plate. Up until now, almost 2,500 applicants have used this new facility to register their vehicles.

The process is simple and efficient. Citizens simply need to call the Nadra call center and book an appointment. The Nadra agent will then visit the applicant’s home within two to three days to complete the registration process, which takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The agent will collect all relevant data, whether the car is new or old, and instruct the applicant to prepare certain documents and arrange payment. The service is an additional Rs 995 on top of tokens and taxes, and is currently only available in Islamabad.

Nadra is responsible for issuing computerized National Identity cards and is one of the largest government institutions, employing more than 11,000 people in more than 800 domestic and five international offices. The organization is constantly working to improve its services and modernize its systems. Previously, Nadra introduced artificial intelligence information-based solutions for verifying fingerprints for senior citizens, the Rahbar mobile app to facilitate citizens, and a Digital Payment System to replace ATMs.

Nadra’s chairman, Nadir Malik, stated that the organization is working to enhance the state’s capacity to deliver digital goods and move towards electronic financial transactions for transparency and accountability. The introduction of the vehicle registration service at home is just one example of Nadra’s commitment to providing convenience and improved services to its citizens.

Overall, Nadra is making efforts to improve the citizens’ experience by facilitating them in every possible way. From providing AI-based solutions to introducing mobile apps and digital payment systems, Nadra is constantly looking for ways to make the process of availing their services more convenient and efficient for the citizens.
