The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced “Pass Track”, a new application aimed at simplifying the currency declaration process for international travelers. The app is mandatory for anyone carrying foreign currency abroad and makes it easier for them to declare the amount they are carrying.
The launch of the app was addressed by Mukarram Jan Ansari, the FBR Member Customs (Operations), who mentioned the government’s changes in cash-carrying limits for international travelers. The State Bank of Pakistan has also mandated the declaration of foreign currency with Customs.
The Pass Track app was developed with the help of the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and is now available for public use on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and also has a web version.
New users can register with their mobile number and fill out the declaration form, available in both Urdu and English. The app provides a step-by-step guide and a feedback mechanism to make the process easier for travelers.
