Salesforce Partners with OpenAI to Bring AI to Business Software Industry

Salesforce partners with OpenAI to bring AI to business software, starting with Slack

Salesforce, the owner of business communication software Slack, has announced its collaboration with OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT, to bring AI technology to not just Slack but to the entire business software industry. The company plans to combine its proprietary AI technology named EinsteinGPT with OpenAI’s technology to offer unique AI features to users.

With this integration, users will be able to perform a range of tasks including generating email drafts, getting customer-account information, and even writing computer code. Slack will also have a ChatGPT integration, allowing users to quickly summarize long group conversations and know exactly what’s being discussed without having to read through hundreds of messages.

Salesforce’s move to integrate OpenAI products into their applications makes them one of the many tech companies stepping into the AI race. In recent months, leading tech companies have been racing towards generative AI integrations, and are now offering unique AI features.

Clara Shih, a general manager at Salesforce, emphasized that the company’s proprietary data and AI models would help differentiate its offering. Salesforce’s generative AI tools would help companies “completely reimagine how they engage with their customers,” she said.

Salesforce’s partnership with OpenAI signals the growing importance of AI technology in the business software industry. With the increasing use of AI in various industries, the integration of generative AI into business software is expected to revolutionize how businesses operate and engage with their customers.
