Spotify recently organized its first Masterclass for the Pakistani artist community in Lahore to raise awareness about music streaming trends, listener growth, and new features. The event featured several prominent figures from the music industry, including Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, a renowned music producer, curator, and artist, who shared his insights on the Pakistani music scene.
The Masterclass aimed to help artists, artist managers, and labels learn how they can maximize their growth on Spotify. Attendees had the opportunity to explore Spotify for Artists and participate in a panel discussion with Xulfi on topics such as music trends in Pakistan, creating music, pitching for playlists, and the relevance of audio streaming.
The Masterclass was part of a series of events organized by Khan FM, Artist & Label Partnerships Manager for Pakistan, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka at Spotify, to help aspiring musicians in the local landscape utilize the tools available to them through the streaming service. With the first event conducted in Karachi in November last year, the Masterclass format has evolved, adding a unique touch to the latest edition.
Spotify showcased a suite of tools that help artists find the fans who would love their music most, including the Discovery Mode, a tool that allows artists and their teams to identify priority songs, and the New Concert and Merch Discovery tools, which help ensure concert-goers never miss another show.
Held at the iconic Haveli Barood Khana in the Walled City of Lahore, the event featured an interactive and immersive music experience that showed the music development trajectory in the country from ancient times to nowadays.
Over 110 artists and their teams registered to attend the Spotify for Artists Masterclass, with prominent names from the music industry in attendance, including Talal Qureshi, Rizzy Rozeo, Hasan & Roshaan, Taha G, Maanu, Members of Rock bands Karakoram & Bayaan, and many more.
Khan FM, Artist & Label Partnerships Manager, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka at Spotify, said, “Our objective with Spotify for Artists Masterclass has always been to provide an easily accessible platform that puts listener data directly in the hands of artists so that it can be utilized to the max! We want to bring more artists from Pakistan onto our platform, enabling them to reach a wider audience across our global markets.”
