This Pakistani Bank is Looking to Make Major Contributions to Country’s Economy With Surprising Measure

Bank-Alfalah

Bank Alfalah, a major corporate donor for flood-affected communities, has teamed up with The Citizens Foundation (TCF) to finance the construction of a primary school in Asif Nagar, Nawabshah, Sindh. The project will cost PKR 49 million, and Bank Alfalah’s contribution towards rebuilding schools is especially significant given the widespread damage that has occurred to educational institutions in Pakistan, with over 25,000 schools affected. The donated amount will be utilized to construct a TCF primary school, aimed at increasing literacy in regions where education is hampered by flood damage.

The new school will provide education to students from kindergarten to fifth grade, with each class consisting of 30 students. It will have a total operational capacity of 180 students, eight faculty members, and five non-faculty members to ensure an appropriate teacher-student ratio. The school will be purpose-built and equipped with essential facilities like running water, electricity, classrooms, a library, and a resource center to support children affected by catastrophic floods.

The agreement signing ceremony was held at the TCF headquarters in Karachi in the presence of Bank Alfalah’s President and CEO, Atif Bajwa, along with Asad M Saleem – Co-founder and Chairman of the Board, Ateed Riaz-Co-founder, Zia Akhtar Abbas- Executive Vice President, and other dignitaries from both organizations.

During the event, Atif Bajwa emphasized Bank Alfalah’s commitment to creating opportunities and tools that enable a prosperous future. He expressed pride in the initiative and said that Bank Alfalah looks forward to supporting more infrastructural and capacity-building initiatives in the future.

Ahsan Saleem, Chairman of The Citizens Foundation, thanked Bank Alfalah for its support in educating underprivileged children and helping communities in times of crisis. He further mentioned that the recent donation by Bank Alfalah would allow TCF to provide quality education to the children in Nawabshah, which would have a lasting impact on their lives and the community as a whole.

Bank Alfalah has previously donated PKR 35 million towards flood relief and rescue efforts for communities and schools established by TCF. The Citizens Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been working to improve education in Pakistan since 1995, and it has successfully established numerous educational institutions and is now one of the leading organizations nationwide in education for the less privileged.
